Va néixer a Figueres al 1960.

Javier Núñez Alberka, és periodista independent com a ell li agrada anomenar-se, però per damunt de tot, i amb molts anys de passegets amb èxit a exposicions ambdós costats del bassal, és pintor taurí. Torista per excel•lència.

Javier és un algecireny/tarifeny adoptiu que va néixer a un esportó, allí per terres catalanes, a Figueres, a les canícules d’agost de l’any 1960. A lo millor perquè el seu pare era un home lligat al món dels toros, el que li va suposar a Javier un contacte directe amb aquell univers, des de el seu mateix naixement. La seva atrafegada infantesa i adolescència va estar sempre mediatitzada per la professió del progenitor. Això el portarà d’un extrem a l’altre de la pell de toro.

A la fi, uns anys de relativa tranquil•litat a Madrid, ciutat a la qual Javier estudiarà batxillerat serà allí on eclosioni la seva altra vocació: la periodística. Treballa durant bastants anys amb Mariví Romero Onda Zero Radio a programes nacionals deixarà constància del seu talant de periodista independent.

Però el que aquí ens interessa es la seva faceta de pintor. Fou la seva tia Manolita Alberka, afamada i llorejada pintora manxega qui es va convertir en la mestra de pinzells del joveníssim Javier. “Tot quant sé, li ho dec a ella” .

Domina les tècniques pictòriques: el maneig dels efectes, la il•luminació apropiada a cada escena, la mescla de colors, la perspectiva, l’harmonia, l’equilibri figuratiu, els contrasts de plànols i un llarg etcètera.

En aquesta exposició presenta una crònica cromàtica extraordinària. El seu ull es fixa no tant en detalls concrets que desgranen en successius moments tot el cerimonial de la Festa Nacional. És té la impressió, al llarg del recorregut, que l’artista es situa a elevat observatori i des d’allí ens transmet els instants a la cimera de la lluita a mort entre l’home i el toro.


Voluntàriament evita la prolixitat, i a pesar d’això les seves pintures vessen de suggestiu realisme. Els cossos de l’home i el toro s’agiten de forma violenta fins produir a l’espectador la impressió de vitalitat exuberant que anima als dos contendents. Se sent l’esforç titànic d’ambdós antagonistes al tancat circular, i la paleta, amb estudiat joc de contrastes dicromàtics, provoca una viva impressió de força i dinamisme a les figures.

Són els toros de mort els protagonistes. Encara per a els desenamorats d’aquesta cerimònia, - incapaços pel mateix de submergir-se a l’esoterisme del sagrat- aquests quadres ens embarguen estèticament per la bellesa que traspuen.

Javier Núñez Alberka segueix la tradició que va inspirar a un Goya,a un Zuloaga,a un Vázquez Díaz, a un Picasso i a tants i tants grans pintors espanyols, amb l’exempció de que ningú d’ells va dedicar tan gran número de quadres al tema tauromàquic com poden admirar-se en aquesta exposició. La seva contemplació ens porta a la memòria poemes de Lorca, Alberti o Cossío inspirades en el toro, o arguments de novel•les llegides a la nostra recentment estrenada joventut.

Les seves pintures són més bé projeccions del pintor, en tant que subjecte, sobre l’objecte; transmeten vivències, idealitzen personatges, fugen de les imatges de mirall. A quasi totes les seves pintures es suprimeixen les ombres i es substitueixen per colors càlids, purs, que evoquen a vells fauvistes. Restringeix voluntàriament la gamma de colors, a pesar de ser festa policroma, amb predomini dels vermells, la sang, i el negre, el dol, sublim síntesi de la lluita home/toro. Recullen moments distints d’aquella cerimònia ritual que aconsegueix el seu clímax amb la mort d’un dels dos protagonistes, és art i força, res més.

Ara no anem a enumerar les seves interminables exposicions i premis, encara que sí cap ressaltar que l’obra aquí exposada recentment acaba d’arribar de ser exposada als Estats Units. Gaudeixin de la seva obra, del seu toro a dimensió natural, d’aquest toro de cartelleria, encaixonat, de vermell i negre, però ple de vida.
